Promotional Flyer

      Introducing High Times

 The only magazine dedicated

solely to getting high really high

The Publishers Note

Vintage High Times Magazine original simulated cover promotional 4 page

fold-out flyer, This pre-publication promotion was used at the National Fashon

and Boutique Shows to raise interest, attract advertisers and sign-up readers

for this new marijuana culture magazine. This flyer illustration was intended to

be the High Times first magazine cover. It was Tom King Forcade first choice, but the investors would choose a picture of Elizabeth Donahue for the first magazine cover.  A very rare High Times artifact.

Publishers note was Thomas King Forcade's idea, it concerned the paranoia of

people or companies being on High Times mailing list, this is a glimpse into his

solution to ease their fears and raise money. He offered security of names by

keeping this information in Wax Sealed Envelopes and placed in a safe, held in

the safe of a lawyer known only to Thomas King Forcade, The Publisher himself

knew the location.

This flyer was originally prepared in 1973, at attorney David Michaels West Village, NYC house. A meeting of potential magazine investors and advertisers.

This is the very beginning of the push to publish High Times Magazine.
