Sam The Skunkman
Dave Watson AKA Sam The Skunkman creator
of the Skunk #1 strain. The cannabis we all enjoy today more than likely is a distant relative of Skunk #1. " The Pure ". Sam started breeding cannabis on a large scale in Santa Cruz California in the 1970s.

Sam and the Haze brothers the creators of the
Haze strain founded Sacred Seeds in 1976 to
produce cannabis seeds and develop new strains for commercial growers. Skunk #1 was one of these strains. Sam moved to Amsterdam in 1985.
He brought with him the strains Sacred Seeds
had created. Skunk #1 and Haze, he also brought a pure Afghan.

The Seed Bank and the Super Sativa Seed Club
acquired these strains from Sam and they would
sell cannabis seeds worldwide through their seed companies. The strains they brought to the world
would lay the foundation for all the different types
of cannabis we have today.​
